Limited edition BMW Skytop prototype spied

The BMW Skytop concept from the 2024 Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este is going into production. One of the first pre-production prototypes was spotted recently in Munich.

The BMW Skytop is an open-top roadster with a futuristic design. It features an illuminated kidney grille at the front with slim LED headlamps and a long vented hood with a prominent spine running along the centre.

The Skytop comes with two removable roof panels. The flared wheel arches neatly blend into the rear section, which features a set of slim LED taillights and a pair of oval exhausts. The car is finished in a unique 2-tone colour scheme. It has a red leather interior. The dashboard layout looks similar to that of the 8 Series.

The production-spec BMW Skytop will be powered by a 4.4-litre twin-turbo V8 engine that produces 625 hp. It will be paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission and BMW’s xDrive all-wheel drive system.

Production of the BMW Skytop will be limited to 50 units.
