Lamborghini Urus V8 sold out; PHEV to debut in 2024

Planning to order a Lamborghini Urus? Well, it’s too late, as the automaker has just announced that the Urus V8 has already been sold out.

In a recent interview, Lamborghini CEO Stephan Winkelmann revealed that the production run of the pure V8 model was drawing to a close. This also means that dealerships will no longer accept fresh orders for the Urus S and the Urus Performante.

The current Urus will be replaced with a plug-in hybrid version next year. The super SUV could borrow the V8 hybrid powertrain from the Porsche Cayenne Turbo S E-Hybrid. With a peak output of 670 hp and 663 lb-ft of torque, this unit is no slouch, but the Urus PHEV is rumoured to pack around 820 hp.

Earlier, Winkelmann confirmed that the next-gen Urus would be an all-electric SUV. This means the upcoming Urus PHEV will be the brand’s last super SUV to use a twin-turbo V8 engine.
