Lamborghini Revuelto recalled following New York fire incident

Lamborghini has issued a recall of its flagship supercar, the Revuelto, over a potential fire risk. Only 2 units have been recalled to fix an oil flange connection located between the radiator and oil tank.

The issue came to light after Lamborghini investigated a recent fire incident that took place in New York. In October last year, @ethanduran was driving down a busy highway when his brand-new Revuelto caught fire. While no one was hurt in the accident, the supercar was completely destroyed by the flames.

Lamborghini found that this particular Revuelto had a production rework on the oil circuit system that lacked any confirmation that the worker tightened the screws to spec. Two other Revueltos sold in the US also had a similar issue. Hence, the recall.

The Revuelto is powered by a 6.5-liter V12 hybrid powertrain. The ICE alone develops 813 hp @ 9250 rpm and 535 lb-ft of torque. The engine is mated to an 8-speed dual-clutch transmission along with three electric motors – two on the front axle and the third paired with the gearbox. The combined output is 1001 hp.
