Lamborghini Lanzador to borrow electric motors from Volkswagen
It’s no surprise that the Lamborghini Lanzador will share its underpinnings with other VW Group models. What we didn’t know is that even its electric motors would be sourced from Volkswagen.
In an interview with The Drive, Lamborghini CTO Rouben Mohr revealed that the company will focus on developing technologies that will set its EVs apart from its competition.
Mohr said, “There will be a lot of solutions that are exclusively for Lamborghini. Even more than in the Urus today. So it’s not a badge.” He added that the technologies and solutions developed from outsourced parts will be exclusive to Lamborghini and won’t be shared with anyone.
Lamborghinis are known for their loud engines. Mohr’s response to a query about the recent trend of faux engine sounds in EVs clearly suggests that he is no fan of the fake sounds. Therefore, it will be interesting to see how they add more excitement to the overall driving experience of their future EVs.
