Lamborghini Huracan STO to be 330 lbs lighter than the Performante?

While Lamborghini is preparing to unveil the Huracan STO on November 18, more details of the new supercar have emerged online.

The Huracan STO is a more hardcore version of the Performante and rumors suggest that Lamborghini has managed to slash 330 lbs off it. It will have weaved carbon fiber inside and out with carbon body panels, roof scoop and fender louvers. It is essentially a Super Trofeo race car for the road with a similar rear spoiler.

The details of the engine that will power the Huracan STO are still a mystery. However it could use the same 5.2-liter naturally-aspirated V10 producing 640 hp and 442 lb-ft of torque. Unlike the Performante, it will be rear-wheel drive. The car is also expected to get a race-spec braking system.

The Huracan STO will be unveiled on November 18. Production is expected to be limited to 700 units.

Until now, the Performante has been the top-of-the-line baby Lambo. It was the first to get the ‘Aerodinamica Lamborghini Attiva’ or ALA active aero package. Thanks to the trick aero, the Performante was able to lap the Nurburgring Nordschleife in 6 min 52.01 seconds. The STO might not get active aero, but you never know.
