Lamborghini Aventador SVJ vs Aventador SV drag race

Lamborghini

Lamborghini Aventador SVJ drag races an Aventador SV

How much difference does 19 hp and active aerodynamics makes when you pit a an Aventador SVJ against a regular SV?

In the first race, both cars get off the line pretty quickly and are running neck and neck, until the SV creeps forward beating the SVJ to the line. In the second race, the SVJ darts off the line and stays in the lead.

The Aventador SVJ’s 6.5-liter V12 engine develops 759 hp and 531 lb-ft of torque, while the SV has just 740 hp. Both cars weigh about the same and will do 0-62 mph in 2.8 seconds. Moreover, the SVJ is 0.1 second slower to 100 mph than the SV.

While it’s certainly entertaining to see the quickest raging bulls lock horns, it would’ve been a lot better if they had timed the runs.

Lamborghini will soon launch a track-only version of the Aventador. It’s called the SCV12 and you can read about it here.
