Koenigsegg to debut new hypercar to mark founder’s 50th Birthday
Koenigsegg is set to unveil a new hypercar at Pebble Beach. It’s the same model they had teased on January 1, 2022. Rumors suggest the new limited edition has been built to celebrate the founder’s 50th birthday.
Christian von Koenigsegg turned 50 this year. The new model is believed to be inspired by the Koenigsegg CC8, which was one of the first hypercars produced by the Swedish brand. Hence, it would be a fitting tribute to have a 50th anniversary model inspired by this car. Another name that’s doing the rounds is ‘Koenigsegg Annira’.
According to our sources, the CC850S packs more than 1300 hp but weighs less than 1300 kg. That means a power-to-weight ratio of over 1:1! It is also said that the car will be come equipped with an automatic transmission with a “manual gearshift”. Koenigsegg apparently calls it the “Magic transmission”.
We’ve been told that Koenigsegg plans to have a limited production run of 50 cars. Sadly, all 50 of them have already been spoken for. The rumored price tag on one of these is €3.5 million.
