Koenigsegg Jesko Attack sets a new Top Gear test track lap record
The Koenigsegg Jesko has added another lap record to its name. Forget the Nurburgring; it’s a lap of the Top Gear test track that sets the great cars apart.
The Stig recently took the Jesko Attack for a lap of the legendary Top Gear test track in England. The high-downforce version is well-suited for this short and twisty circuit, and with 1600 hp on tap, it was able to set a blistering lap time.
The Jesko Attack now holds the production car lap record at the Top Gear test track. It completed the lap in 1 min 10.9 seconds, beating the previous best set by the Ferrari SF90 – 1 min 11.3 seconds.
The hypercar is powered by a 5.0-liter twin-turbo V8 engine that puts out 1280 hp (1600 hp on E85) and 1106 lb-ft of max torque. The engine is hooked to a 9-speed multi-clutch transmission, which Koenigsegg refers to as the Light Speed Transmission or LST.
The Koenigsegg Jesko had also set a lap record at Laguna Seca in August this year. However, the Czinger 21C snatched the crown a month later.
