Koenigsegg gives us a tour of the Regera production line
This week, Christian Von Koenigsegg gives us a tour of the production line at Angelholm, Sweden, as part of his new ‘Uncovered’ series.
Koenigsegg’s operations are unlike a normal car factory. With such low volumes, the company has a very short production line comprising of 8 stations. The assembly process begins at station A with the carbon fiber monocoque. Parts and sub-assemblies are put together alongside the main production line itself. Technicians at each station take approximately a week to complete their job. Over the course of a few weeks, the chassis moves from station to station, until a completely built hypercar rolls out of the factory.
As you can see, right now, Koenigsegg is busy building the Regera hypercar. It was first unveiled at the 2016 Geneva Motor Show. A year later, Koenigsegg revealed the first customer Regera. Only 80 cars are being built.
Now, we have seen some interesting specs of the Regera already. More recently, a Pearl White example was delivered to a garage that will also house the one-off Koenigsegg Jesko Odin.
