Jay Leno drives the Lamborghini Huracan Performante
It has been almost a year since the Lamborghini Huracan Performante was launched and now finally, Jay Leno gets to drive one.
Jay Leno drives a Verde Mantis Huracan Performante on the streets of Los Angeles in the latest episode of Jay Leno’s Garage. But before that, COO of Lamborghini America gives Leno a tour of the new supercar. He talks about the new developments made into the car, especially the trick aerodynamics system – Aerodinamica Lamborghini Attiva or ALA for short.
ALA is a new innovation in aerodynamics made by Lamborghini, where flaps in the front splitter and a hollow carbon fiber rear wing work in tandem to generate downforce. The system can even stall the rear spoiler if required. Lamborghini’s chief designer, Mitja Borkert has also made special changes to both the front and rear aesthetics to aid aerodynamics.
The ALA combined with the Performante’s 5.2-liter, V10 producing 631 hp and 441 lb-ft of torque helped the car lap the Nurburgring in a blistering 6 min 52 sec, setting a new record.
