Is Mark Wahlberg getting a Mercedes-AMG One for himself?

After piloting Bumblebee in Transformers 5 – The Last Night, Mark Wahlberg might soon be seen in a Mercedes-AMG One. No, the AMG One hypercar is not joining the Transformers franchise, but it could one day be part of Wahlberg’s garage.

Mercedes-Benz has posted a video on Facebook, in which Wahlberg appears to hint that he might have an AMG One on order. “I haven’t fitted my seat yet,” the actor said. The video was shot at Mercedes’ US headquarters in Atlanta, where they have a static display of the AMG One.

Mercedes is expected to hand over the keys to one of the first cars to F1 champ Lewis Hamilton. Other famous individuals who have one on order include Manny Khoshbin, Nico Rosberg, David Coulthard.

The Mercedes-AMG One uses an F1-derived 1.6-liter twin-turbo V6 hybrid powertrain that is expected to produce over 1000 hp. The car is claimed to accelerate from 0-60 mph in 2.6 seconds.

275 units of the AMG One will be built and 55 of them are coming to the US. Base price of one of these is in the range of $2.5 million. Reports suggest that deliveries are not expected to start before 2021.
