Influencer Jack Doherty crashes his McLaren on a live stream
Youtuber and social media influencer Jack Doherty crashed his $200,000 McLaren while live streaming on Kick.
In the video, Doherty can be seen driving with one hand on the steering wheel all the while fiddling with his phone. The road surface was slick due to the rain, so when he lost control, the supercar hydroplaned across the road and slammed into the roadside barrier.
Doherty, who escaped unscathed, was helped out of the wrecked car. However, his friend sitting in the passenger seat was injured and had to be rushed to the hospital.
In response, Doherty’s Kick account has been taken down for violating safety guidelines. According to media reports, 185,000 viewers were watching the stream when the accident happened.
Doherty is said to have purchased the McLaren 570S last year for $202,850. It was also equipped with a custom exhaust.
