Hennessey Venom F5 Roadster: World’s most powerful open-top Hypercar
Texas-based Hennessey Performance has revealed the Venom F5 Roadster, which the company claims, is the most powerful open-top hypercar in the world.
The Venom F5 Roadster uses the same 6.6-liter, twin-turbocharged V8 engine. It develops 1817 hp @ 8000 rpm and 1,193 lb-ft @ 5000 rpm and is paired with a semi-automatic single-clutch transmission. Hennessey expects it to beat the Venom GT Spyder’s speed record of 265.6 mph, making it one of the fastest convertibles on the planet. Having said that, the Roadster is 20 kg heavier and takes a bit longer to reach 60 mph compared to the Coupe’s 2.6 seconds.
In terms of styling, the Roadster looks identical to the coupe. It comes with a removable roof that weighs 8 kg. Also, you can now take a peek into the engine bay through the rear glass.
Hennessey is building 30 Venom F5 Roadsters, and they’re already sold out. Of course, there won’t be many who could afford a $3 million hypercar that can theoretically achieve speeds in excess of 300 mph.
