Hennessey Venom F5 Roadster set for August 9 debut

Hennessey Performance has just announced the Venom F5 Roadster. The brand’s new open-top hypercar will be revealed on August 9, 2022.

Back in February, we had reported that Hennessey had started taking orders for the Venom F5 Roadster. We had also stated that the car could be unveiled during the 2022 Monterey Car Week. 

While the Roadster will use the same carbon tub, we can expect a few design tweaks. The Texas-based tuner is building 24 units of the coupe, and if our information is correct, the Roadster will be even rarer. Unsurprisingly, it would cost a lot more as well.

Under the skin, the Venom F5 Roadster will use the same 6.6-liter, twin-turbocharged V8 engine. It develops 1817 hp @ 8000 rpm and 1,193 lb-ft @ 5000 rpm and will be paired with a semi-automatic single-clutch transmission. 

Now, the Venom F5 is built to reach speeds in excess of 300 mph. One would have to be absolutely crazy to drive an open-top car at those speeds. Therefore, we expect the Roadster to come with some sort of electronic speed limiter.
