Gunther Werks 400R Sport Touring could sell for over $1 million
The first Gunther Werks 400R Sport Touring is up for auction on Bring a Trailer. It is expected to sell for well over $1 million. In fact, the current bit (at the time of writing this article) stands at $1.1 million.
The 400R Sport Touring made its debut at The Quail in 2018. Dubbed the “Chelsea Grey Commission”, it is based on a 1996 Porsche 911 Carrera and is one of just 25 cars built by Gunther Werks.
The 400R Sport Touring looks like a modern interpretation of the 996-gen 911 Carrera. It has carbon fibre body panels with a ducktail spoiler at the back and custom 5-spoke deep-dish alloys finished in bronze. The headlamps and tail lights have also been replaced with bespoke LED units.
At the heart of the 400R Sport Touring is a 4.0-liter flat-6 engine mated to a 6-speed manual gearbox. The Rothsport Racing-built engine develops 435 hp and 312 lb-ft of torque and is sent to the rear wheels via a limited-slip differential.
