A used car dealer in Dubai has posted on Mobile that they have one build slot of the super-rare and sold-out McLaren Speedtail hypercar. The original price set by the Woking-based carmaker was in the $2.2 million territory. The build slot on offer will cost a lot more – the equivalent of $5.5 million, to be precise.
The ad isn’t rich when it comes to details. So you got to tread this path with caution and a call to McLaren would be a great place to start, just in case you are a millionaire with a few million to splurge on expensive toys.
Powered by a 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 with an electric motor, the McLaren Speedtail churns out 1,035 hp of power and 848 lb-ft of torque. Capable of clocking a top speed of 250 mph, the Speedtail will easily do 0-186 mph in 12.8 seconds. Performance figures which will draw worry lines on rival foreheads.
Only 106 units of the 3-seater McLaren F1 spiritual successor will be made for global consumption and all examples have been spoken for. Interestingly enough, though the Speedtail isn’t cleared as street-legal in the United States, 35 cars will head to the country once deliveries begin next year.
