Gordon Murray’s T.50 supercar enters production
From a wild concept to reality; the GMA T.50 supercar has come a long way. Now, it’s all set to enter the next phase of its life as it finally enters production.
The T.50 will be hand-assembled at Gordon Murray Automotive’s facility located at Dunsfold, UK. Only 100 examples will be built. The company recently celebrated the rollout of the first monocoque, which was signed by the founder Gordon Murray himself.
The GMA T.50 is a lightweight 3-seater supercar, where the driver sits in the centre – a setup similar to the McLaren F1. It’s powered by a 3.9-liter, naturally aspirated V12 engine built by Cosworth. The engine produces 654 hp @ 11,500 rpm and 344 lb-ft @ 9,000 rpm.
Gordon Murray is also building a track version called the GMA T.50S Track Speed. It will use the same naturally aspirated V12 engine as the road car. However, the motor will be tuned to produce 720 hp and will rev to 12000 rpm.
Only 25 copies of the T.50S will be built. It will be offered to those who already have a T.50 road car on order.
