First Koenigsegg Gemera prototype heads out for testing
It was back in March 2020 when Koenigsegg revealed a hypercar unlike any other called the Gemera. Now, the first prototype of the 4-seat hypercar has been spotted out in the wild.
The Gemera is a hybrid hypercar that’s slightly more practical, thanks to 4-seats. While that’s definitely unlike any Koenigsegg we’ve seen before, the puny 2.0-liter, 3-cylinder engine is also first for the Swedish hypercar maker.
The twin-turbo 3-banger is tuned to produce 600 hp and is assisted by two electric motors. Together they produce 1700 hp and 2581 lb-ft. Koenigsegg claims that the Gemera will do 0-62 mph in just 1.9 seconds.
The Gemera is based on a carbon monocoque and weighs 1880 kg. The car features 4-wheel steering, and the electric motors have a torque vectoring function as well.
