First-ever Porsche 911 Hybrid unveiled; prices start at $166,895
Porsche has launched the first-ever 911 hybrid in the market. The new T-Hybrid system is available on the new Carrera GTS, which not only gets a massive performance boost but also a significant bump in its price tag.
The new 911 Carrera GTS is powered by a new 3.6-liter flat-six engine, which replaces the old 3.0-liter unit. Instead of dual turbochargers, the new engine employs a single electric turbocharger, which has a 14.7 hp electric motor that helps spool it up, reducing turbo lag.
That’s not the only electrification you will find in the engine bay. A 32.6 hp traction motor sits between the engine and the 8-speed dual-clutch transmission, while a 1.9 kWh battery is positioned under the front hood. The result is 534 hp and 450 lb-ft of torque.
Based on the updated 992 chassis, the Carrera GTS T-Hybrid gets active aero flaps at the front, wider tyres and a rear-axle steering system. The car weighs 1595 kg, 50 kg more than the outgoing GTS.
2025 Porsche 911 Carrera facelift:
Porsche has also updated the standard 911 Carrera. The sports car carries forward the same 3.0-liter twin-turbo boxer engine. However, it has been updated with a new intercooler from the Turbo models and turbos from the old GTS. These modifications have increased the overall output to 389 hp and 332 lb-ft.
2025 Porsche 911 facelift prices:
The 2025 Porsche 911 range starts at $122,095 for the base Carrera model. The entry-level Carrera GTS T-Hybrid costs $166,895, and comes in Cabriolet, all-wheel drive and Targa versions.
