Ferrari 812 GTO could be revealed on February 22

We could be just days away from the official unveiling of the new Ferrari 812 GTO. If rumors are to be believed, then the event could take place on February 22, 2021.

The 812 GTO is a hardcore version of the 812 Superfast and the spiritual successor to the 599 GTO and the F12 tdf. The car is internally being referred to as the 812 VS, where ‘VS’ stands for ‘Versione Speciale’ or the special version.

Unlike its predecessors, the 812 GTO is likely to be offered in two body styles – Coupe and Aperta. It is expected to be built in limited numbers. Rumors suggest that Ferrari might build around 1,200 units in total.

The 812 GTO is expected to use a more potent version of the 6.5-liter, naturally aspirated V12 engine that powers the 812 Superfast. In its current tune, the engine puts out 800 hp and 530 lb-ft of torque. In the 812 GTO, the same motor could be tuned to around 880 hp.

Besides a bump in performance, the so-called special version of the 812 will also get a sport body kit. Test mules have revealed different front and rear bumpers as well as a larger diffuser with quad exhausts.
