Ferrari 296 facelift (Versione Speciale) spied in production form

The upcoming Ferrari 296 facelift (Versione Speciale) has been spotted in Maranello. While this isn’t the first time we’ve seen it testing on public roads, this particular prototype had production-spec bodywork.

The 296 facelift appears to have a flatter nose section with horizontal LED headlamps. The curvy rear fender may be carried over, and if recent reports are true, then it might borrow some styling cues from the F80 hypercar.

The Ferrari 296 VS is also expected to be lighter than the outgoing model. It will use the same V6 hybrid powertrain, but in a higher state of tune. Currently, the 2.9-liter twin-turbo V6 delivers 819 hp and 546 lb-ft of torque.
