Exclusive: More dope on the 2023 Porsche 911 Sport Classic (992)
Late last year, we had reported that Porsche was supposedly working on a new 911 Sport Classic. A few days later, images of what seemed to be the prototype of this limited edition had surfaced online. Porsche insiders have now shared some details of the upcoming model, which is likely to be unveiled before July 2022.
The 992 Sport Classic is expected to be based on the 911 Turbo. The car will come equipped with a distinct ducktail spoiler and will feature a cleaner look thanks to the absence of intake vents on the rear fenders.
Rumours suggest that the Sport Classic will be powered by a 3.8-liter, twin-turbo flat-6 engine producing around 550 hp. It will be solely offered with a manual transmission and in a rear-wheel-drive configuration.
According to our sources, the 2023 Porsche Sport Classic will be strictly limited to 992 units. The model is already sold out, despite its asking price of approximately €280,000 excluding VAT.
