Exclusive: More Details about the Ferrari 488 Successor
Ferrari is set to reveal the 488 successor at the 2019 Geneva Motor Show next week. We recently shared the planned timeline for the car’s launch. Today, we would like to share some insider information that’s coming from our source.
It seems, the replacement for the 488 would be more of an update, similar to what Lamborghini did with the Huracan EVO. While the exterior is being described as “pretty”, the interior is likely to be similar to the 488. Apparently, people had high hopes and weren’t particularly impressed with the looks of the car.
Besides looks, the new car is likely to retain the twin-turbo V8 engine, albeit with minor updates to increase performance. The 488 GTB packs a 3.9-liter V8 engine that develops 661 hp @ 8000 rpm and 561 lb-ft of torque @ 3000 rpm. The engine is paired with a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission.
