Exclusive! Lamborghini Urus Hybrid to get over 30 miles of electric range
The Lamborghini Urus, the most popular model in the brand’s line-up, will soon get a plug-in hybrid powertrain. The Urus Hybrid is said to be in its final stages of development and is expected to debut before the end of this year.
Rumors suggest the Urus Hybrid will be powered by a 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 engine paired with a hybrid setup dishing out around 800 hp. Sources tell us that the SUV will be capable of covering over 30 miles on electric power alone.
The Urus Hybrid is likely to get a new transmission, differential and a new torque vectoring system. The SUV is said to have better acceleration and top speed compared to the outgoing model. Expect to see new driving modes as well.
With the technical bits out of the way, let’s now focus on the cosmetic aspect of the Urus Hybrid.
While its overall design will be similar to the outgoing Urus, we’ve been told that the hybrid version looks sharper than before. It is said to feature a new hood, bumpers, grille, and a redesigned tailgate.
The SUV is also expected to get a few updates on the interior. It will feature new air vents, interior colour options and trims. A 12.5-inch touchscreen will take centre stage, along with a new instrument cluster for the driver. The Urus Hybrid will also get updated safety features in the form of improved ADAS.
We can expect to see the first teaser image of the Urus Hybrid in the Lamborghini Magazine #33. We’ve been told that it will showcase the rear of the SUV.
