Exclusive: Lamborghini LB48H Unico to use Supercapacitors!
Lamborghini will be presenting its first hybrid supercar at the 2019 Frankfurt Motor Show. Codenamed as LB48H (Unico), we can now share some interesting information about this car.
Lamborghini has already released a teaser image of the LB48H on its Unica app. Looking at the image, it seems like the supercar is likely to be based on the Terzo Millennio concept in terms of its design. The Y-shaped LED daytime running lights can be clearly seen in the teaser.
According to our sources, the LB48H is likely to be powered by a 6.5-liter, naturally aspirated V12 engine with a 48-volt hybrid unit. It will be the first car to use supercapacitors instead of conventional batteries. Overall output could be about 1000 hp, with a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission sending power to all four wheels.
Sources have told us that the LB48H / Unico will have a range of high-tech features including a feature that has been dubbed as, “Glow in the dark”.
Lamborghini is believed to produce just 63 units of the LB48H, each costing upwards of $2.5 million.
