Exclusive! Alfa Romeo Tipo 33 Stradale homage could debut in March 2023
Alfa Romeo is known for their beautiful designs, and we think the Tipo 33 Stradale is one of its best creations to date. The 1960s supercar won numerous accolades at Villa d’Este in 2018. It’s undoubtedly among the most iconic Alfas, and it made us wonder; why haven’t they followed up with a modern version.
Perhaps, Alfa Romeo has given it a thought already, and we might see a modern incarnation of the 33 Stradale sooner than later. Recent rumors suggest that a “tribute” model is indeed in the works and could be unveiled as early as March 2023.
We can expect the Tipo 33 Stradale homage to borrow design cues from the original. Some big dealers are said to have seen renderings of the car earlier this year. It’s still unclear if a design house like Zagato is directly involved in the project.
We’ve been told, the Tipo 33 tribute is likely to be powered by a mid-mounted V6 engine. Maybe it’s the same engine as the Maserati MC20. This 3.0-liter twin-turbo unit is quite potent and develops 621 hp and 538 lb-ft of torque. The new Alfa might even borrow its carbon monocoque.
Unlike the recently showcased one-off Giulia SWB Zagato, less than 100 units of the Tipo 33 tribute will see the light of day, with each sporting a price tag of over €500,000.
