Esteban Ocon spotted driving the Alpine A110 RS / Trophy-R at the Nurburgring

Alpine F1’s Esteban Ocon was recently spotted at the Nurburgring. The Formula 1 ace was seen putting the upcoming Alpine A110 RS through its paces.

The Alpine A110 RS / Trophy-R was caught lapping the Nordschleife during the Industrypool session. With Ocon at the wheel, the car clocked an unofficial lap time of 7 min 18.77 seconds. That’s a big improvement over the lap time set by Christian Gebhardt from Sport Auto in an A110 S. If you recall, he completed the lap in 7 min 56 seconds.

The A110 RS is a more hardcore version of the A110. The test mule features additional canards, and an extended splitter at the front and a manually adjustable spoiler with an additional lip spoiler at the back. It is also expected to get a few chassis upgrades, including a revised suspension setup.

The A110 RS / Trophy-R might use the same 1.8-litre, turbocharged 4-cylinder engine as the A110 R. It produces 300 hp @ 6300 rpm and 251 lb-ft @ 2400-6000 rpm. The engine is mated to a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission that enables the car to accelerate from 0-62 mph in 3.9 seconds. The top speed is rated at 177 mph.
