Dodge Demon Sunroof costs US$ 10k to discourage owners
The 2023 Dodge Challenger SRT Demon 170 is one of the most sought after muscle cars. Further, as people want to customize their rides, there are a host of options including a sunroof choice that will set back owners to the tune of US$ 9,995.
Sunroof option costing US$ 10k
Apart from the Demon 170 variant, all the other Dodge Challengers come with a sunroof option that costs US$ 1,295. And this is for a car that has a MSRP of US$ 70,000. But, for a car starting from US$ 96,666, the sunroof costs a whopping 10% of the car’s cost.
The real reason for the cost is nothing to do with the construction or the cost and other speciality of the sunroof, but the fact that it’s against the unwritten rules of cars to have a sunroof on a performance vehicle.
Dodge’s statement to the media regarding this
One Dodge representative told the media that “The 2023 Dodge Challenger SRT Demon 170 is the most powerful muscle car in the world. A sunroof goes against the ethos of the vehicle, but we are making it available for customers who truly desire one.”
Hence the company wants to sell the sunroof option to customers who seriously want it.
