Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat is a mental giant
It has been a while since Dodge announced the Challenger SRT Hellcat. The claimed figures have left aficionados awestruck as they wait to get their hands on this “mental giant”. The 2015 Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat is “not for everyone”, according to the company that makes it. Dodge has also revealed the pricing for this beast and for all the power it packs, it seems like a bargain at $59,995. So, America’s most powerful muscle car is cheaper than a rather sophisticated BMW M4 or a Shelby Mustang GT500 Super Snake.
The base Challenger SXT with 305 horsepower is priced at $26,995, while the R/T model start at $31,495. The R/T Scat Pack and 392 HEMI Scat Pack Shaker models are priced from $38,495 and are powered by 485 hp and 475 lb-ft of torque. The Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat is the new flagship offering jaw-dropping performance at just $59,995. It is claimed to be the most affordable muscle car in the US with the best power-to-dollar ratio. So, you get more power per dollar spent.
The top-spec SRT Hellcat is built for the drag strip. The 707 hp and 650 lb-ft of torque can be accessed via an 8-speed automatic with rev-match or a 6-speed manual. The sprint from 0-60 mph is done in around 3.5 seconds with a top speed of 199 mph. The SRT Hellcat hits the quarter mile in 11.2 seconds on road tires and 10.8 seconds on drag rubber.
