Chris Harris finds the Aston Martin DB11 “Surprisingly Fun”
Chris Harris has been driving the new Aston Martin DB11. Aston has dropped the naturally aspirated V12 for a twin-turbo V12. The engine delivers 600 hp but the sonorous crackle of the old atmospheric V12 will certainly be missed. There’s enough torque to break traction on the wet Welsh roads, as Harris reports and the ride is quite comfortable. It’s a completely different animal compared to the Ferrari F12.
The DB11 is based around an all-new chassis. Developed by an ex-Lotus engineer, the chassis is “surprisingly fun”. On the track, the Aston feels composed and precise and what sight it is to watch a gorgeous GT slide around in the rain.
Now, you can also have a twin-turbo V8 under that beautiful bodywork. It’s the first Aston model to receive an AMG engine but more models are set to get AMG power in the future.
