Busted! Dealer employees take customer Corvette Z06 for a joyride

John Parrish, a resident of Burlington and owner of a 2016 Chevrolet Corvette Z06, was shocked to find out that his car was taken on an unauthorized joyride by the employees of a dealership.

Parrish had dropped his Corvette Z06 for service at Modern Chevrolet of Burlington. Dashcam footage revealed that two employees had taken the sports car on two high-speed test drives without this consent. What’s more baffling is that the video shows the car accelerating rapidly on public roads, even crossing the median line on one occasion.

However, according to Parrish, “No laws were technically broken. I got the vehicle back, so it’s not like it was stolen or wrecked or anything like that.”

In a statement to the media, the general manager of the dealership, said, “Our organization is aware of the video that is the subject of your inquiry. We have investigated all the facts, been in personal contact with the customer, and taken prompt and appropriate corrective action. We will have no further comment on the matter.”
