We got super excited when Bugatti announced that it was going to reveal a new hyper sports car today. It was enough to trigger our brains and let our imaginations run wild.
As promised, Bugatti has revealed a new hypercar. But, haven’t we seen this before? It’s the Chiron Super Sport 300+. Well, yes it’s the 300 mph Super Sport, but with a slight twist.
The Chiron Super Sport is designed with one thing in mind – Speed. The long tail design generates a lot of downforce especially at top speed, which is 273 mph. It has the unmistakable quad-exhaust setup and comes with new 5-spoke aluminium wheels, while the lightweight magnesium wheels from the Chiron Pur Sport are available as an option.
The Chiron Super Sport is a step above the Super Sport 300+. It is powered by the Thor engine – an 8.0-liter W16 that churns out 1600 hp. However, the motor now revs to 7100 rpm. Also, peak torque of 1180 lb-ft is available all the way up to 7,000 rpm.
The 7-speed dual-clutch transmission has been tweaked as well. The 7th gear is 3.6% longer than in the standard gearbox. The Chiron Super Sport accelerates from 0-124 mph in 5.8 seconds and 186 mph comes up in 12.1 seconds.
It boasts a new chassis setup. The electronically controlled chassis has been re-tuned with harder springs and firmer dampers. Drivers can adjust the setup by selecting one of the four driving modes – EB, Handling, Autobahn and Top Speed.
At the moment, Bugatti hasn’t revealed the exact number of cars they plan to build. What we do know is that it will be offered exclusively to Chiron owners.
Given the fact that it’s a special version of the Chiron Super Sport 300+, we can expect it to sport an equally special price tag.
