Bugatti Bolide: First customer cars begin testing ahead of delivery

The production of the Bugatti Bolide is underway at the Molsheim atelier. With the first customer cars rolling off the assembly line, Bugatti has commenced the pre-delivery tests. The cars are being put through their paces on a racetrack before being handed over to the customers.

The Bolide is Bugatti’s ultimate track hypercar. Initially introduced as a concept, the automaker decided to build 40 examples priced at $4 million a piece.

The Bugatti Bolide is based on a bespoke carbon fibre chassis that has been developed to comply with LMh and LMDh regulations and meets all safety norms laid down by the FIA. It is powered by the legendary 8.0-liter W16 engine that generates 1577 hp and 1180 lb-ft of torque. Thanks to a dry weight of 1450 kg, this track hypercar has an insane power-to-weight ratio of more than 1100 hp per tonne!
