Brit commissions $6 million one-off Rolls-Royce Phantom Goldfinger

Rolls-Royce has revealed a one-off Phantom that pays homage to the 1964 James Bond film, Goldfinger. It was commissioned by a British collector, who has reportedly paid $6 million for this car.

The Rolls-Royce Phantom Goldfinger celebrates 60 years of the famous James Bond film and takes inspiration from the 1937 Phantom III Sedanca de Ville, owned by the eponymous villain, Auric Goldfinger.

The one-off Phantom is finished in a 2-tone color scheme of yellow and black. The car rides on 21-inch disc wheels finished in black with silver floating hubcaps. The Spirit of Ecstasy also gets a unique finish. It is made from solid silver and has 18-carat gold plating on it.

The gold theme has been carried over to the interior, incorporating 18-carat and 24-carat gold details. The car has a hidden vault in the centre console, which houses an illuminated 18-carat gold bar. The glove box lid has the famous quote, “This is Gold, Mr. Bond. All my life, I have been in love with its colour, its brilliance, its divine heaviness.” inscribed onto it. There’s also a 24-carat gold-plated VIN plaque with a special VIN that ends in 007.

A bespoke artwork showing the isoline map of the Furka Pass has been presented in the Phantom’s Gallery. The Starlight headliner also reflects the constellations as they were positioned over the Furka Pass on July 11, 1964. Other details include Royal Walnut picnic tables with 22-carat gold inlays, Navy leather upholstery with Royal Walnut veneer, and gold detailing. The car also has a special license plate, “AU 1” – AU being the chemical symbol of gold.
