Boosted Boris spots rare Porsche 911 R at Nurburgring-2

Here’s a rare spot to cheer you up on a Monday morning. Boosted Boris found this crapitalist Porsche parked somewhere near the Nurburgring. It is the new Porsche 911 R wrapped in a German Polizei colors.

Porsche is building 991 unit of the 991 R, each costing around $215,000. What’s more interesting is the fact that the 911 R is basically a GT3 with a manual gearbox and is aimed at the Porsche purist.

Under the somewhat understated bodywork is a 493 hp 4.0-liter flat-six naturally aspirated engine from the GT3. Like the GT3, it has rear-axle steering and lightweight center-locking wheels as well. The interior styling takes inspiration from the original 911 R. The twin stripes too hark back to the classic 911 era.
