BMW M3 CS laps the Nurburgring in 7 min 29 sec

The BMW M2 recently set a new Nurburgring lap record in the compact class. At the wheel was BMW M development engineer Jörg Weidinger. Having set the new lap record, Weidinger went for another hot lap, but this time, in a BMW M3 CS.
The M3 CS went around the Nordschleife in 7 min 28.760 seconds. That’s around 10 seconds quicker than the M2.
BMW has just posted the onboard of Weidinger’s M3 CS lap around the Nordschleife.
The latest-gen M3 CS is the most powerful M3 ever produced. It uses the same 3.0-liter twin-turbo 6-cylinder engine as the M3 Competition but produces 542 hp, which drives all four wheels.
