Bespoke Bugatti Chiron Profilée: An automotive solitaire that never hit production
The Bugatti Chiron Profilée was conceived as a model that would sit between the Chiron Sport and the Pur Sport. However, the project never got a chance to enter production, as all 500 slots of the Chiron were sold out way before its development was completed. It has now been presented as a one-off that will be auctioned on February 1, 2023.
The Chiron Profilée also marks the end of the Chiron era, as it’s the final iteration of one of the world’s greatest hypercars. Let’s be honest, even with the subtle changes, the car looks the part, and we won’t be surprised if it sells for a huge sum.
The Profilée has a bespoke exterior finished in a dual-tone colour scheme. It has an extended tail section with an integrated ducktail spoiler, which is also the most prominent design element of this car. According to Bugatti, the redesigned rear section has improved downforce and affects the thermodynamic airflow over the rear axle. The car rides on a unique set of wheels as well.
The Profilée is not just a re-bodied Chiron. In fact, the car gets all-new steering and suspension settings. It also has a bespoke transmission with revised gear ratios that enable it to accelerate from 0-124 mph in just 5.5 seconds! 0-60 mph comes up in 2.3 seconds, while the sprint to 186 mph takes 12.4 seconds.
The Chiron Profilée is powered by the ubiquitous 8.0-liter W16 engine. However, the redline has now been set at 6900 rpm, 200 rpm higher than the standard version. It is said to allow the car to reach a top speed of 236 mph.
