Audi Celebrates R8 V10’s 10th Anniversary With the Decennium Edition
2019 marks 10 years since the Audi R8 V10 was revealed. To celebrate its tenth anniversary, Audi has created the R8 Decennium Edition.
The R8 Decennium Edition is based on the Performance version of the facelifted R8 released in October last year and solely features aesthetic modifications. As such, power rating of the 5.2-liter V10 remains unchanged at 611 hp (620PS) and 428 lb-ft (580Nm) of torque.
It’s the exterior and the interior where Audi has added the special touches. The exterior of the R8 Decennium is finished in an exquisite Daytona Grey by default, but should you like, Audi will supply it with five metallic shades: Ascari Blue, Kemora Gray, Mythos Black, Floret Silver, and Suzuka Gray. Complimenting the main exterior paint are milled matte-bronze 20-inch wheels. The same bronze finish has also been carried over on to the intake manifold of V10 engine.
A number of exterior components – front spoiler, side sills, and rear diffuser receive a gloss black paint. The side blades and exterior door mirror housings are finished in gloss carbon. The dark theme is carried over into the interior as well. The entire cabin is finished in black leather featuring inlays of carbon fiber and diamond-quilted stitching pattern for the seats. Even the Audi logo and model badges are black.
Production of the R8 V10 Decennium is limited to 222 examples, each carrying a price tag of €222,000 ($253,000 in current exchange rates) in Germany. By comparison, the standard R8 V10 Performance costs €200,000 ($228,000). Customers of the R8 Decennium will receive a bespoke car cover featuring bronze embroidery with the Decennium motif when deliveries start this Spring.
