Aston Martin Valkyrie AMR-LMH hypercar makes its track debut
The Aston Martin Valkyrie AMR-LMH hypercar was recently spotted at Silverstone. It was also the first time the Valkyrie-based racecar was seen in the flesh.
Aston Martin has now confirmed that the Valkyrie AMR-LMH completed a shakedown and initial evaluation testing in the UK. The car was driven by Aston Martin High Performance development driver Darren Turner, The Heart of Racing’s Mario Farnbacher and Harry Tincknell.
Aston Martin with The Heart of Racing will now commence a full development schedule to prepare the car ahead of FIA homologation in the autumn and its competitive debut in early 2025.
The Aston Martin Valkyrie AMR-LMH will compete in the Hypercar class. The Heart of Racing will enter two cars in the World Endurance Championship and one in the IMSA in 2025.
The Valkyrie AMR-LMH is based on a carbon fibre chassis and is powered by a Cosworth-built 6.5-liter naturally aspirated V12 engine. In the Valkyrie road car, this engine revs to 11,000 rpm and develops more than 1000 hp.
