Aston Martin confirms new twin-turbo V12 for the DBS successor

Aston Martin is currently working on the DBS successor, which is likely to called ‘Vanquish’. The new super-GT has already been spotted testing in the wild, and now the automaker has shared more information about its new engine.

The good news is that the V12 lives on, albeit in its twin-turbocharged form. According to the company, the engine has been reworked for the upcoming model. It features a beefier cylinder block and conrods, redesigned cylinder heads with reprofiled camshafts and new intake and exhaust ports. Aston engineers have also repositioned the spark plugs, while new higher flowrate fuel injectors help improve combustion.

Aston Martin claims that these upgrades result in a bump in performance and efficiency. The engine delivers 824 hp and 738 lb-ft of torque. Throttle response has also improved thanks to new higher speed, reduced inertia turbochargers.

Aston Martin’s new V12 engine will be available on its high-end models. It will make its first appearance in the new flagship GT set to debut later this year.
