A more hardcore Alpine A110 R could be in the works!
Last year, Alpine debuted the track-focused A110 R. Now, spy images of a much hotter version have surfaced online.
Reports suggest that the carmaker could be working on a more hardcore Alpine A110 R. The prototype, spotted recently at the Nurburgring, does hint at that.
As you may have probably noticed, this Alpine A110 R test mule has several exterior upgrades. It has additional canards and an extended splitter at the front. While the side skirts and diffuser look familiar, the car gets a manually-adjustable spoiler with an additional lip spoiler at the back.
Technical details of the hotter A110 R are unknown. But, it might use the same 1.8-litre, turbocharged 4-cylinder engine as the A110 R. It produces 300 hp @ 6300 rpm and 251 lb-ft @ 2400-6000 rpm. The engine is mated to a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission that enables the car to accelerate from 0-62 mph in 3.9 seconds. The top speed is rated at 177 mph.
