Aston Martin Vantage GT8 To Rival 911 GT3 RS
Aston Martin is building a limited edition sports car to rival the Porsche 911 GT3 RS. Using the V8 Vantage as the base, the new Aston Martin Vantage GT8 is set to be the lightest Vantage every built.
Aston Martin has released an early sketch of the Vantage GT8 that leads us to believe that it would sport an aggressive body kit along with a fixed rear spoiler. According to Autocar, The GT8 will make use of carbon fiber, aluminum and titanium to keep overall weight down.
All unnecessary equipment will be stripped out of the cabin. So, don’t expect this to be as luxurious as your average Aston Martin sports car. Powering it would be a tweaked version of the 4.7-liter V8 which in the Vantage S is good for 430 hp and 361 lb-ft. As a result, the Vantage GT8 will be slightly quicker to 60 mph than the Vantage S.
The company plans to build just 150 units of the Aston Martin Vantage GT8 with 40 units reserved for the UK. Prices for the new car will start at around $241,000.
