Competition Package for BMW M3 and M4 Adds More Power
BMW has launched a new Competition Package for BMW M3 and M4 Coupe which gives the car more power and faster acceleration. So, now for a little extra cash you can have an M3 or M4 with 450 hp and a lot of aesthetic kit as well.
The standard BMW M3/M4 is powered by a 3.0-liter twin-turbo 6-cylinder engine that makes 431 hp and 405 lb-ft of torque. The M dual-clutch transmission fitted to the car ensures quick getaways and a 0-60 mph time of just 4.1 sec. Now, with the competition package, BMW claims the sprint time has gone down by 0.1 sec. Which means 0-60 mph will be over in 4.0 sec while the convertible does it in 4.3 sec.
Moreover, you also get new rim design first seen on the M4 GTS. These 20-inch rims are shod with new tyres which should also play a role in the way the car feels. BMW has also changed the calibration of the Active M Differential as well as the DSC system which works in conjuction with new springs, adaptive dampers and anti-roll bars. Furthermore, a new exhaust system adds to throaty twin-turbo 6-pot burble.
Overall, the Competition Package should make the BMW M3/M4 more engaging and fun to drive. That said, the new BMW M3/M4 was never lacking on the excitement factor as such.
