The McLaren W1 is all set to be unveiled on Sunday, October 6, 2024. McLaren had been hinting about its next-gen hypercar in recent videos. However, this is the first official teaser that features the actual car.
The teaser video shows a silhouette of the W1 with its new light signature. Overall shape looks familiar with the low scuttle and narrow canopy that’s typical of McLaren supercars. The LED lights, though, appear to have a different design.
Sources tell us that the McLaren W1 might get double vents up front like an F1 and a double active rear wing as well as an active front wing.
Sources have also reported that the McLaren W1 is powered by an all-new high-revving V8 engine, which is paired with a Formula 1-derived hybrid system. It is said to have a combined output of 1218 ps or 1201 hp. The engine generates 1340 Nm or 988 lb-ft of torque, which enables the W1 to reach a top speed of 217 mph.
