Rolls-Royce Cullinan Series II makes its global debut: SUV royalty redefined
It’s been 6 years since Rolls-Royce launched its first super-luxury SUV, the Cullinan. Now, the already successful product has received its first major update. Welcome to the Rolls-Royce Cullinan Series II.
In true Rolls-Royce fashion, the Cullinan has been given a subtle nip and tuck that helps accentuate its elegant design and stately proportions. It carries forward the imposing grille, which is now flanked by revised LED headlamps and a new light signature. The Cullinan Series II can be easily identified by its L-shaped LED DRLs. It also gets a reworked front bumper with new air intakes.
For the first time, the Cullinan features an illuminated pantheon grille, similar to the brand’s flagship, the Phantom VIII. The rear fascia might look familiar, but it now features a revised bumper with integrated exhausts. The SUV is also available with 23-inch wheels for the first time.
Coming to the interior, the Cullinan Series II gets a new gauge cluster and a redesigned central display, which is now based on the Spirit OS that was introduced on the all-electric Rolls-Royce Spectre. For the first time in Cullinan, Bluetooth headphones of any type can be paired with the rear seat infotainment system.
At the heart of the Cullinan Series II, is the familiar 6.75-liter twin-turbo V12 engine, producing 582 hp and 664 lb-ft of torque. It is paired with a slick 8-speed ZF automatic transmission. As with the previous generation, the new Cullinan also features a rear-axle steering system.
The Black Badge version gets an active exhaust system, which can be toggled using the ‘Low’ button. It also improves the gearshift response by 50% at 90% throttle.
