2025 Mercedes-AMG CLE 53 Cabriolet debuts with 443 hp mild-hybrid engine
In 2023, Mercedes-Benz launched the CLE-Class as a replacement for the C and E-Class coupes. Unsurprisingly, it received the sporty AMG treatment later. Now, the automaker has revealed its convertible version.
The Mercedes-AMG CLE 53 Cabriolet will go on sale later this year. It’s a drop-top CLE 53 with a 3.0-liter turbocharged 6-cylinder mild-hybrid engine under the hood. It produces 443 hp, with the mild-hybrid system offering an additional boost of 23 hp at low speeds. The engine is mated to a 9-speed automatic transmission, which sends power to all four wheels.
Mercedes claims the CLE 53 Cabriolet can achieve 0-60 mph in 4.1 seconds and has a top speed of 155 mph.
The Mercedes-AMG CLE 53 Cabriolet features a wider front and rear track. It rides on 19-inch AMG light-alloy wheels and is equipped with adaptive dampers and a rear axle steering system as standard. It even has a Drift mode, where power is sent only to the rear axle.
In terms of design, the CLE 53 Cabriolet has a low-slung grille with large vents and sharp headlamp clusters. Inside, the car gets a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster and an 11.9-inch touchscreen in a portrait orientation. There’s a 3-spoke flat-bottom steering wheel, sports seats and a soft-top roof that can be raised or lowered in around 20 seconds at speeds of up to 37 mph.
