Lamborghini Urus SE plug-in hybrid Super SUV revealed
The long-awaited Lamborghini Urus Hybrid has been finally revealed. The new Urus SE is the brand’s first plug-in hybrid Super SUV. It will make its public debut at Auto China Beijing 2024 on April 25.
The Lamborghini Urus SE not only has a brand-new powertrain under the hood, but also features several cosmetic changes on the outside. It looks more mature with a cleaner design, while also borrowing certain design elements from the Reveuelto supercar. While it still looks as striking as before, the front fascia has been simplified. It has reprofiled headlamps and reworked bumpers, while the rear sports a black trim between the Y-shaped taillights.
On the interior, the Urus SE now comes with a 12.3-inch touchscreen with updated graphics consistent with that of the Revuelto. There’s also a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster and Y-shaped anodized aluminium elements all around.
Powering the Urus SE is a 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 engine that develops 612 hp and 590 lb-ft of torque. It is combined with an electric powertrain delivering 189 hp and 356 lb-ft of torque, for a combined output of 789 hp @ 6000 rpm and 701 lb-ft @ 1750-5750 rpm.
The engine is mated with an 8-speed automatic transmission and a four-wheel drive system. The SUV packs a 25.9 kWh battery that gives it an electric-only range of 37 miles.
Drivers can select from four different driving modes using the “tamburo” selector. These include Strada, Sport, Corsa, Neve, Sabbia and Terra. Additionally, there are four new settings for the plug-in hybrid powertrain – EV Drive, Hybrid Performance and Recharge.
