Tesla Roadster can hit 60 mph in under 1 second, claims Elon Musk

Tesla CEO Elon Musk claims that the new Tesla Roadster can accelerate from 0-60 mph in under 1 second.

In a recent post on X (formerly Twitter), Musk said, “There will never be another car like this, if you could even call it a car. I think it has a shot at being the most mind-blowing product demo of all time. Oh, and it’ll apparently hit 60 mph in less than one second.”

The Tesla Roadster first appeared on the scene back in 2008 and went out of production in 2012. A replacement was announced in 2017 but has yet to go into production.

According to the company, the second-gen Tesla Roadster could enter production by the end of this year, with customer deliveries scheduled for 2025.

That being said, as per the spec sheet released by Tesla back in 2017, the Roadster would be capable of sprinting from 0-60 mph in 1.9 seconds. It would complete the quarter mile in 8.8 seconds, while its top speed was said to be in excess of 250 mph. Tesla also claimed a maximum range of 620 miles on a single charge.
