Exclusive! More dope on the Aston Martin DB12; Engine & Price
Aston Martin has confirmed that it plans to introduce 8 new sports cars in the next 2 years. One of them is the DB12 – the replacement for the DB11. We now have some new information to share on Aston’s upcoming GT.
Let’s start with the engine. According to our sources, the Aston Martin DB12 is likely to be powered by a new AMG-sourced V8 engine. The motor is said to have been modified by Aston and develops around 650-690 hp. That’s over 122 hp more than the old twin-turbo V8 and 20-60 hp more than the 5.2-liter twin-turbo V12. Speaking of the V12, Aston Martin is unlikely to offer a V12 engine option on the DB12.
One of the departments that Astons have often lacked is the infotainment system. This time around Aston Martin is said to have developed a dual-screen infotainment system in-house, which will be bespoke to the brand.
The DB12 will compete with the likes of the Mercedes-AMG GT when it arrives later this month. The car is estimated to have a base price of £185,000, which is approximately $230,000.
