2024 Mercedes-Benz line-up revealed in EPA filings

Car makers usually refresh their line-up by introducing new models, variants or engine options. Mercedes-Benz is no exception and for the 2024 model year, the German carmaker has a few changes in its cars for the American market. These changes were revealed thanks to an Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) document.

2024 Mercedes-Benz line-up : What to expect

EPA paperwork is usually very drab and boring. However, after going through the pages in the document, we can sense some hints as to what is to be expected from Mercedes-Benz.

One of the first clues to the 2024 line-up is the new E-class wagon. However it will come only in a single E450 All Terrain variant. Mercedes plans to launch this sometime next year. The All Terrain moniker means that the car will get claddings all around and higher suspension as well. The German carmaker will offer the E450 All Terrain with a 6-cylinder mild hybrid engine.

The coupe and convertible CLE will also make its way in 2024. The two-door grand tourer will replace both the C and E-class coupes. However, 4Matic all-wheel drive system is standard on the CLE models. These include the base CLE 300 along with the CLE 450 with 6-cylinder engine and the top of the line AMG CLE 53. Enthusiasts will be happy to note that the AMG CLE 53 will come with a twin-turbo inline six with mild hybrid tech. The document also reveals that there will be no plug-in options in the CLE or AMG models.

2024 Mercedes-Benz AMG models

Coming to the other AMG models, the E-Class is absent. That said, Mercedes will offer the new GT – the coupe version of the SL with a choice of two engines. The 55 AMG will come with 469 HP / 516 lb-ft. while the 63 AMG will be good for 577 HP and 590 lb-ft. Both these will get the same 4.0-liter twin turbo V8 motor.

Further, the SL will get a 43 AMG version with a 2.0-liter 375 HP motor. That said, the GT is not listed with a similar trim. This could mean that we could have to wait a little more for this version.

The EPA document also reveals an absence of PHEV vehicles. This means that the top of the line AMG GT along with the E53 and E63 sedans could come as 2025 model year cars.
